Character Profile
PERSONALITY BLURB:
Sebastian is a cynical and disloyal bully, misguided by his own arrogance and ego. Because of his lack of foresight and purpose, he tackles life with an apathetic ambivalence, never quite knowing which path to take. Instead, Seb bounces from one distraction to another, amusing himself with a series of playful whims and mischief.

A social creature, Sebastian has always thrived in the company of others. Yet taking a backseat is not in the man’s nature. Loud, domineering and holding a flair for dramatics, Seb enjoys making his presence felt. He surrounds himself with those easily wooed by his charisma and insincere charms, forcing his way into the spotlight at any opportunity.

With a streak of expedience, Sebastian is not opposed to going above and beyond to get what he wants. A true narcissist, his love for himself and his shallow desires far outweigh any compassion he may share for others. Spontaneous, conceited and imbued with a strong sense on entitlement, he pursues his hedonistic lifestyle with little thought of consequence.

ROLE-PLAY SAMPLE:

It’s a miserable Sunday morning and the shopping mall is brimming with idiots itching to dig themselves further into debt. Sebastian snakes though the crowd, his judging eyes bouncing over the undesirable creatures he passes. Fat slobs bursting out of skinny jeans, girls who apply foundation four shades darker than their neck, parents with unruly brats. Seb doesn’t even bother to hide his look of distaste. (You should not be wearing those jeans...)

Taking a right at the food court, then a left at the water fountain, Sebastian enters into the designer clothes store. He flashes the shop assistant a smile - a tall, stocky man, though not quite his type. Nether the less, he looks dumb and preoccupied enough. Moving deeper into the store, Seb begins to browse its wares. Shirts, shoes, jackets, sunglasses. He wants them all. Not that his bank balance would agree. But then again, Sebastian doesn’t plan on his bank balance taking a hit today. And then he sees it. The perfect leather jacket. Seb’s eyes immediately glance back towards the assistant. He isn’t looking.

(I’ll be having you...) Silently, Sebastian slides the jacket from the rails. His eyes flicker towards the security cameras, slyly tracing their vantage points. He shuffles closer to the stand, concealing himself behind a pillar. Then, racing against time, Seb throws the jacket on under his current coat. He immediately buttons the outer layer, hiding the stolen goods beneath. (Right, act casual.)

Sebastian takes a measured step from behind the pillar. Pleased to see the shop assistant in the same position as earlier, he moves closer towards the entrance. His heart pounds with adrenaline as he nears the door. Yet, Seb is strangely confident that he’s already got away with it.

(Idiots.)

BEEP.BEEP.BEEP.BEEP.

Sebastian spoke too quick. As he passes the threshold of the store, the alarm rings loud and clear. The man winces. This is not how he thought it would go. But Seb is not one to give up easily. As if deaf to the sound, he simply keeps walking. His strides remains steady, yet not excessive as he heads straight for the nearest exit.

“Hey. Stop!”

The voice echoes from behind him. A glance over Sebastian’s shoulder reveals it to be the clerk. (Shit shit shit) Panic fills the man’s veins. But good panic. Exciting panic. He doesn’t stop. Instead, Sebastian quickens his pace. Racing towards the exit, he breaks out into a full sprint at the sight of approaching security guards. They speedily follow suit. (Catch me if you can fuckers...)

Magical Human

Sebastian Luna

In this game of Fortune...
Character Race

The souls of magical humans have the tendency to sway between good and evil. While most mediums tend to favor the side of good, you do not tread the common path. Your powers have led to an influence from more sinister mentors. With a practiced access to demonic spirits, this has caused your development of a more evil neutrality.

This chosen morality pushed you away from the call of The Elders. You no longer utilize your powers to protect the Innocent and fight evil. Even though you are not charged to battle vengeful ghosts and spirits who haunt, murder and torture mortals, you still share the common traits among your magical race.

Inherent Abilities

As a medium, you possess specific inherent powers which include mediumship, banishment and The Craft.

Mediumship is the ability to see and communicate with ghosts and spirits without magical aid. As a natural medium, this power is an inherent trait found in the makeup of your molecular structure. Additionally, mediums are the only magical humans who are able to banish ghosts and spirits with spells or incantations while on the corporeal plane. Other magical humans can only do so on the spiritual plane. This means non-mediums must separate their souls from their bodies to banish ghosts and spirits.

Lastly, you have an innate connection with magic through The Craft. Through this power, one can access magic through the practice of spell casting, potion crafting, and scrying. Mediums are born with a natural bond with magic because of their connection to the astral plane and its Mother Nexus.

Individual Powers

Your individual power has manifested in the form of catoptromancy. Noted in ancient myth as the ability to access "the looking glass," it is more accurately described as divination through the use of mirrors. The power is triggered by waving your hand over a glass surface paired with a deep curiosity. While passive in nature, the ability is often coveted as it helps mediums commune with souls or essences that have crossed over into the great beyond. This is because catoptromancy helps you perceive events within spiritual planes through mirror gazing. Currently, this is limited to viewing the Astral Plane, Limbo and the Wasteland. However, as your power progresses, you will eventually be able to peer into even more secluded spiritual planes such as the Inferno, the Netherworld, the Ancestral Plane and perhaps even the Spirit Realm.

At your present strength level, you cannot maintain your catoptromantic gazing for long stretches. You are able to keep your power activated for six consecutive in-character posts, but you may only sustain your perception on the first realm you choose to view. Following the use of your power, you must wait until you have written six consecutive in-character posts before you can channel it again.

Other aspects of this power allow you to summon souls and essences from spiritual planes and bind them into a mirror for direct communication. A summoned spirit or essence will be bound to a mirror for six consecutive in-character posts. And you may only summon one spirit or essence at a time. Following a summoning, you must wait until you have written six consecutive in-character posts before you can call forth another entity. Some fair warning. You should be careful with this particular skill as upper level spirits have been known to harness their magic into the material world while bound into a mirror. However, you have learned that shattering the mirror's glass will immediately banish the spirit back into the spiritual plane from which it was pulled.

In terms of individual prowess, you are currently a Level 5. This makes you a Lower Level Medium.

Financial Status and Occupation

Unfortunately, you are not as blessed as some of the elite when it comes to financial freedom. However, on the bright side you don't have to struggle as some others when it comes to attaining financial freedom. You are lower middle-class. Close to living paycheck to paycheck, you're not so broke you can't afford to partake in consumerism!

As far as how you acquire your means of self-preservation, you are a Bartender for Tavern Ferit, a bar in the suburb Kaz Ida. Tending bar helps keep you financially afloat, at least when it comes to raking in the tips!

Residence and Starting Point

By being lower middle-class and holding down a steady job, well it usually means you’re not going to be homeless. But you're not going to live in the city proper either. You lay your head to rest in a motel room at Tempest Inn located in Kaz Ida, which is a suburb of Istanbul.

Please post a completed biography within the Pending Biographies forum. Once your biography is approved, you will be moved into the appropriate member group, granting you permission to begin your journey in the Back Alleys of Kaz Ida.
